MM Board & Paper signed an agreement with R.D.M. Group on 17 August 2026 to acquire the operating business of R.D.M. Arnsberg, a recycled fibre-based cartonboard mill in Germany, through an asset deal.
The Arnsberg facility has annual production capacity of approximately 230,000 tonnes of recycled fibre-based cartonboard and specialises in liner products. MM said the acquisition would strengthen its core board business and complement its existing production network. The company plans to integrate the mill into its German industrial platform, which comprises several cartonboard mills and packaging plants. MM expects the enlarged network to generate operational synergies that would support a turnaround of the Arnsberg operation.
The transaction is also expected to increase production flexibility across MM’s network, improve security of supply and broaden the range of products and services available to customers. The company did not provide projections for the synergies, capacity utilisation or production programme at the mill.
All employees working at the Arnsberg facility will transfer to MM as part of the acquisition. The companies have not disclosed the purchase price or financial terms of the asset deal. Completion remains subject to the receipt of the required antitrust approvals. Based on the timetable stated when the agreement was announced, MM expects the transaction to close during the fourth quarter of 2026.
The acquisition will add a recycled cartonboard operation to MM’s German manufacturing footprint. Its liner specialisation will extend the group’s production base while allowing the Arnsberg facility to operate within a network of board mills and packaging sites. Neither MM nor R.D.M. Group included executive comments in the announcement. Further details regarding investment, operational changes, customer arrangements or the integration schedule were not publicly provided.
